Patrick Hackleman is an illustrator, model maker, and storyteller working with Living Studios. He works in two different modes, one, in vivid colors retelling the stories of his favorite heroes, and the other, technical drawings and models of sunken ships. Whether it’s his intensely colored comics, or monotone graphite schematics of the ships, Patrick’s illustrations are rich in detail and beautifully articulated. His models, much like his to scale illustrations of the ships, are accurately rendered, you can tell by looking at these constructions that Patrick has spent countless hours piecing them together with great care and attention.
All of his works share a common theme. He notices the issues that may have caused the wreckage of the ships, and he corrects them. He retells his favorite comics to better the chances of survival of his favorite characters. Patrick is driven by his need to generate a better outcome for these stories. Because of this, Patrick is able to create entirely unique artworks that allow us to peek into an alternate universe where his heroes make it another day and the ships long gone still float atop the water even now.
